Baya Michaelson (Born: Michael E. Clay), was raised and schooled in the Big Sur/Monterey area. Michael started playing Suzuki Violin at age 2. By 4 he was playing the Piano in classical fashion and at the age of 9 had developed into an Alto Saxophone player. By the age of 14 Michael had performed in Jazz clubs with the likes of Dizzy Gillespie, Bob Soder and Clyde Stubblefield. Though not keen on Jazz, in 1987 Michael quit the Saxophone and turned to computers as a viable option for creating new musics. This is when the persona of Baya was manifested. There is no record on file for the next decade. Baya hit the San Francisco scene in 1999 though decided to isolate himself again, this time for decades.
After an explosion, Baya repurposed amputated spaces to incorporate Digital File Storage and Connectivity ports, hence becoming one of the first cyborg musicians.
